Headaches VS Migraines 3 main differences!?
Headaches VS Migraines what’s the difference?
As allied health professionals, we see many people use the word “migraine” and “headache” interchangeably to describe their head/neck pain.
It’s extremely important as therapists to know the differences and for our clients to learn why it is so important to have a correct diagnosis from us or any allied health professionals!
We generally ask our patients 3 main questions to determine if they are suffering from a migraine or a headache.
1. Has a headache limited your activities for a day or more? Y/N
2. Have you been nauseous or sick in your stomach when you experience this headache? Y/N
3. Has light troubled you when you experience a headache? Y/N
If you answered YES to 2 or more questions, then you may be suffering from a migraine. We suggest to make an appointment with your GP and/or allied health professional to seek some advice.
The above questions are for screening purposes only.
As Myotherapists, we can treat migraines and headaches, although it may depend on the severely and symptoms you are currently suffering..
